Hello, Middle School Parents!

Whew! We’re in to our second week of online learning and I think we’re on the road to working out all the bugs. We’re definitely learning a lot of new technology skills (myself included) and facing this challenge with a open-mind. I’m so proud of how the middle school seems to have adjusted to our new “norm”.

I have been on Google Meet every day to chat with classes, to answer questions, and check in as needed. Schedule is as follows:
6th Grade 10a and 2p
7th Grade 10:30a and 2:30p
8th Grade 11a and 3p
I will sign off video conference after 15 minutes if no student has logged on.

I have been posting work on both the Google Classroom stream and on my class website (6thgrade.svscatholic.org/homework). There are a few students in each grade who are not completing their daily work. While I am being flexible with their work time, please remind your child he/she is responsible for completing the work assigned. I have been messaging students with reminders if I see an assignment has not been started and will reach out to you (parents) if no progress has been made by this evening. Feel free to reach out to me to let me know if something is impeding your child’s ability to work at this time so I am aware or we can work something out if needed.

Finally, one last reminder, if your child needs more academic work, don’t forget about First in Math and i-Ready (online reading instruction).

Again, thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate through this together. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Ms. C
