Reading/Language Arts:
Vocab – No vocab from our book this week 🙂
Grammar review this week. We also have some Thanksgiving information text to gather information from and a turkey facts scavenger hunt – working on synthesizing information and facts from a text.
Book report – Keep reading and planning your book report. Project guidelines and rubrics can be found on the rubrics & handouts page of this site. Due date is Weds. January 9 (I know it seems far away, but it will sneak up on you…)
Math: Because it’s a funky week with Ms. C out AND Thanksgiving festivities, we are taking a break from our math book. Math this week is a packet with review and challenge work. Students will be required to plan a Thanksgiving feast. This activity will utilize most domains of our 6th grade math curriculum, as it challenges students to use operations with decimals, tables & charts, ratios & proportions, and build equations, as well as honing in logic and problem solving skills.
Religion: This week, our religion will focus on the Liturgical Year – we will explore the different seasons of the church, their symbols, and what message they signify.
Social Studies: We are delving into Ancient Egypt. Students should continue to work on their research project and PowerPoint. Presentations are due Wednesday November 28.
