St. Vincent de Paul Collection
To honor the mission of Saint Vincent de Paul and to express our gratitude for what we are blessed with, St. Vincent’s School will be holding a collection for the less fortunate. Starting on Monday, September 16, and ending on the feast of St. Vincent de Paul on Friday, September 27, SVS will be collecting socks, blankets, and various toiletries to be donated to Father Joe’s Village. 12th Annual Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser: Our Jog-A-Thon, “Comic-Con turned Jogic-Con”, will be on Friday, October 11. Our superhero students will be unleashing their superpowers to help us reach our goal of $40,000!

St. Vincent de Paul Feast Day Parish Celebration: SAVE THE DATE! Please join us on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Mission Hills Pioneer Park! Our celebration will feature delicious food catered by Phil’s BBQ and the Italian Catholic Federation. There will also be lots of parish picnic games and great family fun! Tickets for the catered lunch are only 5.00/person. Tickets go on sale starting on September 7, 2019, after every mass and in the Parish Office! STEAM Maker Festival: With over 6,000 students, teachers, and educators participating, the STEAM Maker Festival is a fun and exciting chance to inspire a new generation of Makers and scientists! Afterschool Chess Classes: International Master Larry Evans and his staff teach chess in 60 schools throughout San Diego. The chess class at St. Vincent School will be open to all grades and will meet on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. in the Science Room. For more details and information, please

Afterschool Music Classes:Mission Hills Music offers private lessons for guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, flute, trumpet, clarinet, violin, viola, and voice. Owner, Anna Robitaille, is a graduate of SVS and has been accompanying SVS for their Christmas program and Spring Showcase the last couple of years. Please check out our website for more information:

P.E. is Monday and Thursday.
- Students may wear their P.E. uniform all day.
- IF YOUR CHILD IS SAFETY PATROL – they may wear their red SP shirt and white pants all day if they are on duty the day of P.E.
7th and 8th grade are starting on their first narrative pieces, focusing on a memorable place. Both 7th & 8th have a grammar test scheduled for Friday. 6th grade is finishing their summer reading assignment. They will have a grammar test next week.
6th Grade is starting to explore the story of creation in Religion and what makes a civilization in History.
