A FEW NOTES FROM MS. C
BIG THANK YOU to the Kohn family for their donation of post-it notes and throw pillows! We really appreciate the supplies and extra comfortable seating.
This month is a busy month! A few no school and early dismissal days coming your way…
Friday, October 4 – NO SCHOOL (PD Day for teachers)
Friday, October 11 – Jogathon (12N dismissal)
Friday, October 14 – No School (Columbus Day)
October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi: St. Francis was a holy man who promoted love and peace in troubled times. Since school is closed on October 4, we will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis on the morning of Thursday, October 3rd during morning assembly. We will hold a blessing of the animals to remember St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. While there will be designated areas on the yard for the animals, all pets must be in a cage/box or on a leash. Students who are unable to bring a pet may bring a picture of their pet or a picture of a pet he or she would like to own. Animals may not stay on campus during the school day, so please make arrangements for your pets to be taken home immediately after the blessing.
MASSES: Our first Wednesday School Mass/Rosary is this Wednesday, October 2 (8:05 a.m.). Grade 8 will be preparing the Liturgy. In addition, our first SVS Family Mass is Sunday, October 6 at 10:30 a.m. Grades 2, 5, & 8 will be preparing this Liturgy. Please join us for one or both of these special Liturgical events.
Our first SLE recognition is next Monday, October 7. We hope you’ll join us during morning assembly as we recognize students who have exemplified being a committed Catholic.
6th Grade is continuing to explore the story of creation in Religion; a test is scheduled for next Thursday. In History, we have started our third chapter, focusing on the Fertile Crescent and the various civilizations that grew out of this region.
Just a few things we’ve been up to in the last few weeks… (I Am project, color wheels, and Grammar Escape Rooms)
