A FEW NOTES FROM ME

Field Trip 2/7 – San Diego Symphony
Field trip to the San Diego Symphony. Students should be in formal dress uniform (PTG free dress can be worn on Friday).

Valentine’s Day
If your child is planning on distributing goodies or cards for Valentine’s Day, please note that there should be enough for the entire class. We have 26 kids total in 6th grade.

Candy Grams
Student Council is hosting a candy gram sale. Candy grams are $1 each or 3 for $1/50. Flyers/order forms will be sent home next week. Orders from parents or family members welcome!

Don’t forget – your child can play Prodigy at home to practice math skills! It’s a fun, interactive game that helps build math skills and is geared to your child’s individual level and needs!

Vocab – Vocab 13A this week – we will have a test on Friday.

Reading: We have been reading our Scholastic magazine, focusing on the idea of segregation and an author’s purpose with language or organization of an article.

For Grammar this week, we are diagramming adjectives and working on capitalization of regions, religions, and greetings.

Math: Continuing our unit on equations and expressions…test scheduled for Thursday 2/7

Religion: This week, we are jumping into an exploration of the Israelites as a royal people – specifically the appointment of Saul and David by the prophet Samuel.
